Forced religiosity

Forced religiosity

I’m not an atheist. I believe in God and I also believe that He makes things happen.

What really bugs me is someone forcing me to worship Him in a particular way. My way of praying is taking some time out on a hectic day, maybe two minutes, wherever I am, and talking to Him. I don’t think that offering him flowers or some such thing is really required.

But that’s just me. Many believers disagree with me strongly. They require me to ‘show’ my devotion by actually standing in front of an altar and joining my hands and saying some prayer.

This is what I call ‘forced religiosity’. God is everywhere, in everything. Belief is important. But if force comes in, belief is lost and only an irritation is left.
